Things That Make Me Happy Today

Happiness No.1

Last Wednesday I had an appointment with my cousin SH whom I have not seen in ages. I call her Kak Cik, because she calls herself Kak Cik. The fact is, she is 11 years younger than me. I was very happy to see her. So we sat down in the Rasa Foodcourt of Suria KLCC and we swapped stories. A lot has happened in our lives, a lot of challenges, the ups and downs of life. I am very glad she is happy and doing well in her life. Not to forget I am also happy that I myself is in a much better and more peaceful frame of mind than when she last saw me perhaps ten years ago. Thank you Kak Cik, you are still like what I know you when you were a young teenager, a frank person. Hope to see you again Kak Cik.

Happiness No.2

I am very very glad that my boy Mickey Benjamin is back to his normal self after the high fever episode.

My kitties had a few issues lately. In late April Comot was down with vomitting and diarrhoea. She was better when I left for Bangkok on Labour Day but not totally cured. I was very apprehensive while I was away and the kitties were boarded. By the time I came back Comot was cured. However about a week later Ro unexpectedly passed away. I was really taken off-guard, as I thought Ro was getting better. It was very very sad. Luckily Tam was okay throughout that period.

Happiness No.3

My niece S will be getting engaged soon and I am very happy for her. I will be going back for the ceremony. The red songket in the image above will be her outfit for the big day.

On being grateful

I am grateful for all the good things in my life, beloved cousin, beloved niece, beloved pets and everything else.

Thank you my Lord! Please do not let me forget the good things I have, however small. Many of those small things are very precious and cannot be acquired by money or wealth.

I live in a peaceful country, I belong here. I do not have to migrate to find a better existence (if I am younger and better qualified perhaps........). I am not stateless and I am not persecuted. Even with all the problems that we have, I still think Malaysia is a good place. I have plenty to eat always, I have a home, even if it is a very small one and I have a small old car which I love dearly. I do not have a lot of money but I can still travel at least once a year.

I have lots of books which are my treasures and which I love dearly too. I can read to my heart's content whichever and whenever I like. I am very glad I know English because that enables me to read a wide range of topics. I totally love reading. I am not that highly educated but the school of life are available to you if you make the effort. I am good with that and I love my life!
